And we know in advance it'll be worth reading because its author is Cynthia Furey, familiar to us all from her work at the OC Register as well as her own food blog, Furey and the Feast, which, thankfully, looks as though it'll be carrying on as well.

The thing is, it's for a granola. Which is kind of weird when we're talking about Mr. Eric Ripert, but no less delicious and useful for so being.
If I have one piece of advice for you as 2010 inexorably turns into 2011, and believe me I have many more than just the one but this will have to suffice for the moment--MAKE THIS GRANOLA.
It is delicious, and adamantly PACKED with whole-foods nutrition.
With the seeds and nuts I chose--pepitas, sunflower kernels, and flax, sliced almonds and maybe a handful of MRM walnuts, it has 132 calories per ounce. Eminently doable in a sensible diet, even a diet diet, so long as one sticks to a measured amount, eh?

NB, it is NOT for the ginger-averse.
