I wrote a bit about TJ's Woodfire Pizza for the mag in 2011...

In February, upon discovering them at the Irvine Great Park Farmers Market:
Bringing pizza to the people?gimme a Mobile Pizza Unit, stat!!!!!
And then in June, when they were the print edition SnapShot feature:
Pizza to Go
plus an interesting update in the blog:
New this & that for TJ?s Woodfire Pizza?excellently good this & that
wherein it was revealed that they switched to using my beloved Carmelina tomatoes, the end of my long search for tomatoes w/NO JUNK, covered in this OCFN topic on the subject and in the blog: Great tomatoes with NO JUNK?the local part is just gravy.

Thus far, though the only OCFN mench of TJ's has been in the Great Park Farmers Market topic, and well, coming up on a year of happy patronage, I think they deserve their own.

The other week we stopped by the Great Park specifically for their pizza and were as per usual SO glad we did. Great seeing Tina and Tim and having the requisite geeky flour-dough-oven-char-extensibility sort of chat that I find endlessly fascinating. Ivan and Tim talked firewood, too. And the pizza? SO GOOD. We added their New Mexico green chiles that day to the four cheese, and had a garden, too. ❤ Oh, and a new one that day which was finished with a drizzle of lemon olive oil over its pesto base. Yes; good.

Resolved: More TJ's in 2012!!!

From one who is entirely too picky about pizza, TJ's is the best Neopolitan style pizza I've tasted in decades, certainly the best in OC. Or, if you're not into brainless competitive top-5 best-of chest-beating: TJ's pizzas are really, really, really good.

And now, our chances of scoring a TJ's Margherita are DOUBLED! TJ's is set to sell at the opening-this-Friday Mission Viejo Farmers Market at the library/civic center, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Excellent news. Roll on, Mobile Pizza Unit!

(More about the market, and TJ's participation, in Taste of Orange County today, too.)

TJ's indeed made the scene opening day of the Mission Viejo Farmers Market, and had literally BIG news, too.

You can read about it in Taste of Orange County today: TJ's Woodfire is Taking Mobile Pizza to a Whole New Level.
